James Monroe Museum.
Located in Historic Fredericksburg, Virginia, the James Monroe Museum & Memorial Library features the largest collection of artifacts and documents of the United States’ fifth president. The museum has been open since 1927, when Monroe family members decided to share these historic items with the public. In time, the museum and all its collections were given to the Commonwealth of Virginia. Today, the museum is run by the University of Mary Washington.
